Gori is a city in eastern Georgia and the capital of the Shida Kartli region. It is located at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Liakhvi rivers. Gori is the fifth-largest city in Georgia. Its name comes from the Georgian word "gora," meaning "hill" or "mountain."
