Mtskheta

Mtskheta is one of Georgia's oldest and most historically significant cities, located at the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers, near the capital Tbilisi. It was the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Iberia and is considered the spiritual center of Georgia. Mtskheta is home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century) and the Jvari Monastery (6th century), masterpieces of Georgian Christian architecture.
