Kutaisi

Kutaisi is a city in western Georgia. It is home to the centuries-old Bagrati Cathedral. On the outskirts of the city lies the Gelati Monastery, a medieval cathedral with elaborate frescoes. The nearby Motsameta Monastery on the hillside houses the remains of martyrs. Historical Georgian manuscripts, ceramics, and textiles are exhibited at the Kutaisi State Historical Museum. To the northwest of the city is the Prometheus Cave, featuring petrified waterfalls.
